Welcome to Moorland!
This diverse fictional world represents the many faces, cultures, and experiences of God’s people across nationalities. In a reimaged England, spanning from the early 1300s to the end of the Victorian-age in 1901, we meet a multi-ethnic English peerage.
We start our journey in 1812 with the House of Moorland, where daughter Moriah is faced with the excruciating prospect of marriage after observing firsthand her mother’s dismal end. While her brother Felix must assume the mantle of Duke, and make the best decisions for the family’s illustrious lineage (more on their history in future posts), even if it means forcing his sister to push past her fears to see what her heart truly desires.
So far, I have five titles plotted for the series, but only God knows where we will end up.
Moorland is a place where anything is possible, where those seeking more in life can find their Goshen - their place of multiplication.
Many of us are in our Moorland season. We’ve lost, we’re hoping, and we want more than what we’ve had. The characters who live in this world, are like you and me, they share those feelings of loss, hope, and wanting. In Moorland, they become more than they were before. They transform into inheritors of the promises of God. Much like Israel multiplied in the Goshen of Egypt before the Exodus, the characters of Moorland are growing, maturing, and developing into the people who can take hold of the promises of God.
As you follow their stories, and see their transformations, I hope you receive a touch from God that allows you to walk into your own transformation, or helps you along your journey, so that you too can walk boldly into the promises God has for you.
Remember, God’s never far from where you are.
Love & Blessings
